There are worse things than spending a couple of years in Southern California. I too was born and raised in Cache Valley, but when Scott graduated from USU the only job he could find was in San Diego. So we packed up our 3 little boys (2, 4, and 6 at the time) and went off on a BIG adventure. We stayed for 2 years, and while it had it's moments, most of it was very good. I am not sorry at all that we were forced out of our comfort zone for a while. If you end up there, you'll find many positives. Of course, we were also really glad when Scott found a job back here, because I didn't want my kids to grow up there! But overall, it was fun! Driving on the freeway terrorized me at first, and while I never really got used to it, I learned that I COULD do it. But only if I HAD to.
